COVID-19 is now forcing the closure of hair salons, nail salons, and spas until March 27 following an executive order issued Tuesday by Gov. Tim Walz. Closures went into effect at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The executive order initially aimed to close bars and restaurants, but included businesses where people tend to congregate.
The Minnesota Board of Cosmetology issued the following statement: "Please do what you can to prioritize the health and safety of students and clients. We are in conversation with the Governor’s Office and other relevant parties about solutions to the challenges that the COVID-19 situation presents."

So far there have been 60 COVID-19 cases confirmed in Minnesota.
