Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey has unveiled changes to the Minneapolis Police Department in the wake of increased gun violence across the city.
In a Facebook post published Saturday afternooon, Mayor Frey wrote, "Over the last several weeks, we’ve been forced to make the difficult decision to reallocate available resources throughout the department – and away from many of the programs that both the Chief and I believe in – toward fundamental police work, primarily investigations and patrol functions. We completed that process earlier this month."
