The City of Minneapolis will have to come up with a new plan for relocation of it's Third Precinct police headquarters.
A deal to lease a warehouse is now off, confirmed by the company that owns the property at 2633 Minnehaha Ave.
The warehouse is about a half-mile from the building that previously housed the precinct heaquarters, which was burned during the riots following the death of George Floyd.
The city says the two sides reached an impasse in negotiating a deal for the lease. But neighbors had been vocal in opposition to the plan.
A statement form the company, Imagine Express, says it intends to move in another direction.
A block party was planned tonight in protest of the relocation of the precinct building.
