Pregnant woman fatally shot in south Minneapolis, baby is delivered

Minneapolis police are investigating a Sunday night shooting that left a pregnant woman dead.

The baby was delivered, its condition not known.

It happened around 9:15 p.m. near the intersection of 37th and Elliot Avenue in south Minneapolis, about a block away from the George Floyd memorial.

Officers arrived at the scene and found people trying to keep the woman alive.

The woman was taken to HCMC where doctors delivered her baby, but the woman died a short time later.

Early reports say the woman was in a car when she was shot.

Police also say another gunshot victim arrived at the hospital a short time later, but it's unkonwn if the two are related.
