Dayton's is back in downtown Minneapolis.

The old Dayton's sign, that is.

Crews on Thursday installed the familiar white script with a green background on the second-floor facade of what's now called the Dayton's Project.

The last time the Dayton's sign was on the building at the corner of seventh and Nicollet was 2001, when the store was renamed Marshall Field's.

The store eventually became Macy's, and closed in 2017.

The $200 million project is scheduled for completion next spring.
