NWS Twin Cities meteorologist Shawn DeVinny says no injuries have been reported.

"The tornado developed just a few miles east of Watertown in Carver County before moving into Hennepin," DeVinny said. "We've seen significant tree damage from the 90 mph winds and a little bit of damage to some outbuildings."

DeVinny added that tornados were possible as they kept tracking the rapidly moving and very strong storm system.

"We always knew that this was a possiblity with this set-up," he said. "The storm was moving fast, 50 to 60 mph, and it moved into Hennepin County, just west of Mound. Thankfully it lifted before Mound, but we had to keep warnings out last night because the storm was still capable of producing a tornado."
