The Vikings are reportedly hiring their new offensive coordinator from in-house.

NFL Network reports Gary Kubiak, who had been an assistant head coach and offensive advisor, will take on the offensive coordinator role.

Kubiak retired as a head coach in 2016. He was at the helm for Denver's Superbowl win in 2016, and coached the Texans from 2006 to 2013. In his playing career, he was a backup quarterback to John Elway with the Broncos.

As a coach, he is known for his use of a zone blocking scheme and for, "his ability to manufacture top 10 offensives with decent, but not great quarterbacks."

Kevin Stefanski left to become the head coach of the Cleveland Browns.

The Vikings' defensive coordinator position remains vacant.
