One man is dead following a standoff that began Tuesday night in Eagan.
Eagan police were called to a domestic assault involving a firearm shortly after 6 p.m. A suspect with a firearm fled the scene once police arrived.
After a short foot pursuit, officers contained the man near the 1900 block of Seneca Drive and ordered him to put the gun down. Negotations lasted several hours until at some point during the negotitations, shots were fired, which struck the male.
He was later pronounced dead at Regions Hospital. Police plan to release more information at a Wednesday morning news conference.
