When news broke last week that Kevin Garnett was getting his jersey retired in Boston before Minnesota, it hit many Timberwolves fans hard, including Newstalk 830 WCCO host Henry Lake.
“He should step up in my opinion, as the elder, as the owner, and initiate a truce,” Lake said.
Lake also believes that the current situation makes the franchise look bad, even as people in the organization are trying to turn things around, reportedly even working behind the scenes to mend fences between the Timberwolves owner and the most important player to ever wear the team’s jersey.
“Minnesota is trying to shed the image of being a franchise that doesn't know what's going on and it doesn't start with Gerson Rosas making trade after trade or draft pick after draft pick. It starts with the owner letting go of any grudge he may have with his greatest player ever,” Lake said.
