Police in West St. Paul are investigating the city's first homicide since 2017.
21-year-old Lawrence Renfro was found shot to death inside his apartment Tuesday morning in the 1900 block of Oakdale Avenue. Police say Renfro's young son was in the apartment at the time, but was not injured.
Investigators are checking nearby surveillance video near Oakdale Terrace apartments and say that evidence shows Renfro likely knew his killer.
The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting local law enforcement with the investigation.
