Mankato physical education teacher has been charged after allegedly injuring a student with a basketball

31-year-old Prairie Winds Middle School teacher Chandler Gooding is facing assault charges following allegations that he intentionally struck a 6th-grade student in the face with the ball during a game in April.

Court documents claim Gooding became visibly frustrated after being fouled, reportedly throwing his keys and pushing another student before the confrontation.

There's no word yet on when he will make his first court appearance.
