Q: Hey Laura...What's your One Cool Thing for this week?
A: People typically think trumpets are always loud and heralding, but this group incorporates a range of styles...from, yes, "here comes the king" fanfares, to some beautiful, soft music that takes extra skill to master. The ensemble's guest artist is Marissa Benedict, the University of Minnesota's new professor of trumpet. She comes from L-A where she worked extensively as a studio musician and has nearly 150 movie soundtracks to her credit! She'll be playing four pieces, including a Beatles medley that is sure to be a crowd favorite.
Q: How do I get tickets?
