The return of a normal high school football season in Minnesota featured something that was anything but routine.
Five-time defending Class 2A state champion Caledonia lost to Lake City 30-13, the first loss for the Warriors since 2014.
A great TEAM win last night! Our boys came ready to play. Appreciate the class of the Caledonia coaches and players.

The defeat at Lake City ended Caledonia's 71-game winning streak, the longest current streak in the US and second-longest in state history.
The home-standing Tigers clinched the win with a fourth-quarter goal-line stand that was followed with the final touchdown of the game.
Lake City's defense had four interceptions.
Caledonia's most recent setback was to BOLD in the 2014 state 2A playoffs.
The last regular-season loss for the Warriors was in 2011 to Plainview-Elgin-Millville.
Minnesota's longest high school football winning streak is 76 games by Stephen-Argyle, which ended in 2008.
