Minnesota weather strikes again.
Wednesday's wind chill has the St. Paul Saints once again pushing their home opener off another day. Instead of tonight, the opener against the Iowa Cubs will be played tomorrow afternoon. That is after it was already bumped from Tuesday.
The Wednesday game will actually be made up as part of a doubleheader later this summer, when the I-Cubs return to CHS Field from June 6-11. Date and time are TBD.
In addition, the Saints are moving up their game time on Thursday, April 6 from 6:37 p.m. to 3:07 p.m. to take advantage of the sun and warmest time of the day. Gates for the April 6 game will open at 1:30 p.m.
And of course the first game ball will be delivered by none other than this year's Ballpig, Mud Grant.
While the Saints will play ball on Thursday, the Twins already pushed their home opener off of Thursday to take advantage of even warmer temps Friday. They'll open against Houston at 3:10pm.
