The Minnesota Twins have lost one of their top prospects due to an ACL tear in his knee.
The team's top prospect, Royce Lewis, had an MRI done upon arriving to spring training and that imaging found a torn ACL in his right knee. Reports say that his knee was sore during off-season workouts in Texas and then it had been tweaked by a slip on the ice last week.
The 21-year old prospect was ranked number 17 in the list of top 100 prospect in Major League Baseball. He was given an invite to major league spring training this season, but was a longshot to make the team to start the season.
Lewis will undergo surgery on Friday in the Twin Cities, according to MLB.com.
