With COVID-19 restrictions fading into the woodwork, Twin Cities wedding planners are back to making dreams come true once again.
Owner Jennifer Rosen with Rosetree Weddings and Events says last year was a crushing year for their clients to say the least.
"They just had to postpone and postpone again. And some of them had to re-plan their weddings three and four times. It was so devastating. I think you get to a point of "planning exhaustion" where you're having to redo invites and redo 'save-the-date's," said Rosen.
Rosen says her company typically executes 60 to 85 weddings a year, so it was quite a blow when 80% of 2020's bookings suddenly went away due to the pandemic.
"And the conversations we were having with our clients went from "Oh yay happy day" to "bummer town" where we were basically telling them "no." It was a really hard shift," said Rosen.
But this year, that has all changed. From ordering last-minute generators to cool the tents this past weekend, to dozens more events through the summer and fall, Rosen says they're expecting a record year. She says when you're in the business of saying "yes," it feels good to once again be the bearer of good news instead of the dream crusher.
"So this year now it's kind of getting back to normal. We're saying, "yes-we can do that. Yes-we can do that." Much happier conversations this year than last, that's for sure."
