Authorities arrested 67-year-old Gregory Ulrich on Tuesday after a shooting that left one person dead and four others injured at Allina Clinic Crossroads in Buffalo, Minnesota.

Four of the victims were taken to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale and one was later released. The other victim, who was taken to Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis, later died according to hospital officials.

According to a North Memorial spokeswoman, one victim remains in critical condition as of Wednesday morning. Two others have been updated from critical to fair condition.

Alleged motive is yet unknown, with officials saying "there's a lot of information to be sifted through." The shooter allegedly did not speak at the scene, although it's "most likely" the incident was targeted at that facility or someone who worked there, investigators said.

Prior to law enforcement providing an update Tuesday afternoon, Governor Tim Walz suggested that improvised explosive devices had detonated inside the clinic, however officials have yet to confirm whether or not explosives went off.

Buffalo Police Chief Pat Budke told reporters that Ulrich was "on their radar" and they had been in contact with him since 2003.

“The history that we have as a department with this individual makes it most likely that this incident was targeted at this facility or someone within that facility,” Budke said. “He has lived in this community for quite a long time and has had contact with health care within the community during that time.”

Ulrich's former neighbor, Benjamin Thompson, told WCCO-TV that Ulrich was combative and liked to argue about almost everything. Thompson said he should have questioned a sign outside of Ulrich's home a little more.

“It was handwritten, it said ‘Allina Crooks’ in letters big enough across the top that you could read from a car driving by,” Thompson told WCCO-TV. “The smaller message had a statement about one particular doctor.”

Court documents show a judge dismissed a charge for violating a temporary restraining order after ruling that Ulrich was not mentally fit to stand trial.
