
An unusual caper in Maplewood, Minnesota Wednesday. Police are on the lookout for a stolen monkey.
The capuchin monkey, named CoCo Chanel, was stolen from a vehicle parked at the Cub Foods on the on White Bear Avenue.
The theft reportedly took place Tuesday night as the monkey's owner ran into the store, leaving the primate in the vehicle.
Upon returning, Coco Chanel and it's pink carrier were missing.
For the most part, exotic animals like primates are illegal to keep in Minnesota without regulations. There's no information on whether the monkey is legally kept or who the owner is.
Maplewood Police are checking surveillance footage and looking for witnesses. Anyone with information is urged to call Maplewood Police at 651-249-2608.
