30 semi-trucks of lights are all in place waiting for sunset as the annual GLOW holiday festival kicks off at CHS Field in St. Paul Thursday night.

Founder Randy Levy telling Vineeta Sawkar on the WCCO Morning News there are many new attractions this year including a 30-foot fairytale castle sparkling with 10,000 lights, as well as the usual crowd favorites.

"People love the giant slide. They love the zip line," says Levy. "We've also kept our bike tree going where you get on a bike and pedal and that lights the 20-foot tree. So we try to make it as interactive and fun as possible."

Levy says a dollar from every ticket benefits local charities.

Since GLOW started as a drive-thru event on the state fairgrounds in 2020 during the COVID pandemic, more than $400,000 has been donated.

Levy adds that it's the perfect venue for a concentrated, dazzling experience.

"When we can take 30 semis of lights and really truly fill out the space and decorate the field, it's just a better show," he says.
