Minnesota is part of a new food safety alert issued by the CDC.

The alert announced on Friday comes after more than 11,000 pounds of Busseto Foods brand ready-to-eat charcuterie meat products were recalled by Fratelli Beretta USA, Inc.

24 people have been infected with an outbreak strain of Salmonella in 14 states including Minnesota. The meat was reportedly shipped to Sam's Club distribution centers. Five people have been hospitalized.

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture confirmed Salmonella in an unopened sample of the recalled item and more testing is underway to see if the sample is the outbreak strain.
