Minnesota-based chef Justin Sutherland has been arrested in St. Paul just three days after he pleaded guilty to threatening his girlfriend.
Sutherland allegedly violated a no-contact order with that girlfriend at a Halloween store in St. Paul.
Earlier this week Sutherland agreed to plead guilty to a felony charge of threatening to shoot his girlfriend this past summer.
In Sutherland's plea agreement reached Monday, the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office called for two years probation, 100 hours of community service and a chemical dependency evaluation.
His sentencing date is set for December 13.
In July, Sutherland's former girlfriend told police he had put his hands around her neck, pointed a gun at her, hit her in the chest with the gun, and threatened to kill her.
Investigators say Sutherland had blood on his hands when police arrived at home on Front Avenue in St. Paul. A search of the home turned up 10 guns.
Sutherland rose to prominence after winning the TV competition "Iron Chef America" and has appeared on Top Chef. He was the original executive chef at St. Paul's Handsome Hog and now owns a breakfast sandwich shop on Grand Avenue.
