Cards, candy, balloons, flowers - they're all synonymous with Valentine's Day which is this Friday. If you're looking for a tasty treat there's a Chocolate store in St. Paul sure to tickle the taste buds.
Chocolate is synonymous with the day of love, but this year chocolatier Mary Leonard with Chocolate Celeste is rolling out an interesting new flavor.
"How we are different is we use a French chocolate that's considered, sometimes by some people, the best chocolate in the world it's called Valrhona," she says. "So I am highlighting Valrhona plus I made one new flavor this year which is champagne hibiscus."
Of course, our Ari Bergeron had to indulge in this delectable delicacy.
"Sweet is at the tip of your tongue, sour and others are at the sides of the back," explains Leonard.
"Yep, delicious," is the verdict from Ari.
Leonard says she'd like attempt other new unusual flavors throughout the year. But, she admits that the champagne hibiscus chocolate wasn't initially her idea.
"It was a suggestion of a customer and it worked the first time," Leonard said. "I have to say that not all of them work the first time, but I do have a formula that I use that it's a certain percentage of whipping cream, chocolate and cream with the addition of flavors."
Leonard suggests taking one bite at a time allowing the sweet flavors to hit the tip of your tongue, while the sours are on the back sides.
Sounds like a plan.
