One person was killed and a Minneapolis police officer was seriously injured in a crash early Tuesday morning.
The crash happened at 12:29 a.m. at the intersection of Lyndale Avenue and 41st Avenue North as the police officer pursued a stolen car involved in multiple business robberies.
During the pursuit the police cruiser entered the intersection and hit a westbound vehicle on 41st Ave. The officer then struck a southbound vehicle on Lyndale Avenue.
The occupant of the westbound vehicle died at the North Memorial Medical Center. The officer was treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.
No injuries were reported to inside the southbound vehicle.
John Elder, the Director of Police Information, said that the Minnesota State Patrol was reconstructing and investigating the crash.
