Another concert tour announced this morning will get a stop in the Twin Cities.
Cyndi Lauper's appropriately titled "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour" begins in her hometown of New York City on October 18, and includes 23 North American Stops including one at Target Center on Wednesday, December 4th.
Monday morning's announcement comes alongside "Let the Canary Sing", a feature-length documentary that explores Lauper’s life and career.
Presale tickets for her Target Center appearance are available tomorrow, with general sales beginning Friday through ticketmaster.com.
"Let the Canary Sing" premieres on the streaming service Paramount+ beginning on Tuesday, June 4.
“Over the years I’ve been asked to do a documentary about my life and work, but it never felt like the right time," Lauper says. "Until now. When I first met (Producer) Alison Ellwood, I knew right away I could trust her to tell my story honestly, which was incredibly important to me, and she succeeded in that. I'd like to thank Alison, the producers, and all of the amazing documentary participants who agreed to be interviewed!”
Lauper was featured this past weekend on CBS Sunday Morning and was also recently featured in the Netflix documentary "The Greatest Night in Pop", about the recording of the landmark song "We Are the World" in 1985.
