Our friend Dave Lee has a new title: Hall of Famer.
The Pavek Museum of Broadcasting announcing that the longtime WCCO Morning News host is being inducted into the Minnesota Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
Lee worked at WCCO Radio for 32 years before retiring in 2021, 25 of which he hosted the morning show.
"When you start out as an 18 year old kid and get a job at a radio station and start playing 9 hour country music shifts, little do you think that someday you might be in the hall of fame," Lee told WCCO's Jordana Green.
Other inductees in the new class include Dan Barriero, Cathy Wurzer, Freddie Bell, and Lynn Ketelsen. An induction ceremony will be held September 17th.
Lee joins a number of WCCO Radio personalities in the Minnesota Broadcasting Hall of Fame, including Sid Hartman, Cedric Adams, Charlie Boone, Roger Erickson, Steve Cannon, Joyce Lamont, and Eric Eskola.
"It's been a fun ride, and an interesting journey," Lee said. "It would make an interesting book if I were so inclined to write about the experiences of my life."
