Minnesota House Speaker Lisa Demuth on Monday announced that Ryan Wilson will be her running mate in her campaign for governor.
The Republican is expected to make the announcement official later on in the day.
Wilson was runner-up to Julie Blaha for state auditor in the 2022 election.
The resident of Maple Grove is an attorney and founded a medical equipment manufacturing company.
Demuth is the first of any candidate for Minnesota governor to select a running mate ahead of the 2026 balloting.
Even Tim Walz doesn't yet have a running mate because his lieutenant governor, Peggy Flanagan, is running for U-S Senate.
Demuth is a small business owner from Cold Spring who's been in the Minnesota House since 2018.
She became House Speaker in February.
