Deputies involved in the shooting death of man in Minnetonka earlier this year have been cleared of any wrongdoing.

Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty announcing that those deputies were justified in their use of force against 28-year old Clint Hoyhtya while they were serving a warrant at a home on Crestwood Drive East in Minnetonka.

Investigators say after knocking on the door of the home, Hoyhtya, who was not the subject of the arrest warrant, started shooting at them with an assault style weapon while dressed in a tactical bulletproof vest.

One of the four deputies involved was hospitalized. After the shooting broke out, multiple law enforcement agencies responded, offering help to the deputies.

Hoyhtya's father believes that his son wanted to die, and engaged in a so-called "suicide by cop."
