If you're looking to make some plans in nature this weekend, it's another free day at all Minnnesota state parks on Saturday.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources offers four days per year where they waive the admission fee to all 75 state parks and recreation areas.
"This is a great opportunity for people who have a favorite park to go back and visit it, or for people to try something new. Maybe they haven't been to a state park before. And, if you're a "try before you buy" kind of person, a free park day is a good way to try out state park activities," said the DNR's Sara Berhow.
Berhow says state parks offer a little something for everyone, depending on how active or adventurous you'd like to be.
"For those who are up for a physical challenge, there are plenty of those to be had. For those who want to relax by a beach or have a family picnic, that is great too. There's no wrong way to spend time in a state park," said Berhow.
Berhow says millions of people visit Minnesota state parks each year, with the parks along Lake Superior's North Shore attracting many out-of-state visitors.
A day pass is typically 7 dollars and an annual pass good at all Minnesota state parks is 35 dollars.
