A 36-year old man is facing a life sentence after being found guilty of an Eden Prairie domestic homicide.

Prosecutors say Ryan Charles Rooney killed his wife in a hotel room in the 7700 block of Flying Cloud Drive in November of 2021.

Investigators have said after killing his wife, Rooney shot himself but survived.

Investigators also found two young children in the room who were unharmed, but had been obviously neglected. There were also several drugs and at least one gun according to police.

Rooney has a long criminal history, including convictions for domestic violence and drug offenses.

Sentencing is set for sometime in early December.
