Fatal fire claims one near Uptown Minneapolis

One is dead following a house fire early Sunday morning near uptown Minneapolis.

Crews were called to the 2300 block of Aldrich Avenue about 1:25 a.m.

Smoke reportedly was coming from the second floor of the two-and-a-half-story home when firefighters arrived.

A man who was found on the second floor and taken outside the structure, but he died at the scene.

Another adult was able to get out of the house without major injury.

Names are not released.

Four people were displaced by the fire, with the house deemed unlivable by authorities.

There are now nine reported fire fatalities in Minneapolis this year.
