Minneapolis fire officials say two elderly people made it out of a burning home on Lake Bde Maka Ska Parkway safely this morning.
The fire started around 8:43am and continues to burn at the time of this publishing. Firefighters have had to take a defensive posture to extinguish the fire, including laying several handlines and an aerial ladder water tower was set up. A second alarm had been called to help with additional equipment and personnel.
The two residents were taken to the hospital for treatment and evaluation. No other injuries have been reported.
The cause is under investigation.
