A weekend apartment fire in the western suburbs has investigators looking for answers, and residents trying to find a place to live.
St Louis Park firefighters were still on the scene Sunday of a fire at the Helix apartments along Highway 7.
That fire broke out on Friday, with firefighters still looking for hotspots. The fire was declared under control after crews worked the scene for about three hours.
The fire started Friday afternoon and tore though the building destroying 90 units. There are more than 160 units in the large S-shaped complex.
Two firefighters were treated at the scene for heat-related injuries.
Neighbors are stepping in to help, and offering donations. The American Red Cross has set up an emergency shelter at the St. Louis Park Middle School where meals and supplies will be handed out.
Some residents were allowed back inside, while others say they have animals that have not yet been located.
The cause of that fire still not known.
