The Foo Fighters were scheduled to play U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis in August of 2022. Then tragedy struck the band that May when drummer Taylor Hawkins died, leading to a cancellation of the Minneapolis show, and all other upcoming shows for the popular rock band.

Now, a new drummer is place, and the Foo Fighters are coming back to the Twin Cities with a show at Target Field July 28, 2024!

The "Everything or Nothing At All" tour will include special guests The Pretenders and L7.

Tickets go on sale starting Thursday, October 5 at 10:00 a.m. for local presales and Friday, October 6 for General Sale at 10:00 a.m.

The Foo Fighters new drummer, Josh Freese, actually has Minnesota ties, and long musical ties too.

Freese's grandfather Hal Freese was a music teacher with Edina Public Schools. His father, Stan Freese, was a tuba player at the University of Minnesota.

The Foo Fighters came back in 2023 with the "But Here We Are" album, their first since 2021. The record found the band's leader, singer and guitarist Dave Grohl himself playing drums in place of the late Hawkins. Of course Grohl is no stranger to picking up drumsticks. He was the drummer for a little band called Nirvana before that death of that group's heart and soul, Kurt Cobain, in 1994.

Grohl launched the Foo Fighters in 1994 almost as a one-man project in 1994, eventually fleshing out the rest of the group and released their debut album in 1995.

It's been nearly 30 years of massive success now for the band. 10 Grammy Awards, won the Global Icon Award at 2021's MTV Video Music Awards, and that was quickly followed by an induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Joining the Foo Fighters at the Twins' outdoor ballpark will be longtime rock stalwarts The Pretenders who recently played First Avenue's 7th Street Entry, a rare appearance for a major band in the smaller venue.

L7 is an American all-female rock band founded in Los Angeles, California, first active from 1985 to 2001 and re-formed in 2014.
