New details emerged Monday following Saturday night's fatal crash in Woodbury.
Police say Garrett Bumgarner, 17, died at the scene of Saturday's crash that involved four other males, also identified as 17-year-olds.
The crash happened around 11 p.m. on Settler’s Ridge Pkwy & Sundance Way when the 2015 Honda Accord the teens were in crashed into a tree. Authorities say Bumgarner was ejected from the vehicle.
Bumgarner was a student at East Ridge High School, the school confirmed on Sunday.
In a Facebook post, Woodbury Police, Fire and EMS wrote:
"There are many people that have a lot of emotion to process: moms, dads, siblings, grandparents, extended families, friends, classmates, neighbors, responders- the entire Woodbury community, really. A thorough investigation into a crash such as this takes time."
Three of the other boys were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries.
Police say they are in serious condition but stable.
Due to date practice laws, the drive of the vehicle has yet to be identified. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
