After a a successful event last year, Grand Old Day is set to make a repeat appearance in St Paul this summer.

A three-year hiatus had many businesses on Grand Avenue worried, now things are back on track the event is seemingly here to stay.

Co-owner of Irish on Grand Maeve O'Mara says not only does the event have financial value but an important cultural value as well.

"Grand Old day, makes you think of Grand Avenue, so it puts the avenue on the map," O'Mara says, " I think that's important that we do that."

O'Mara says she's been in business on grand for 33 years and will continue to participate in the event as long as she can.

"We partake in the vent and make it fun," O'Mara says, " And it's expensive to run but the hope is that we can continue to pay to have staff on the Grand Avenue Business association."

Grand Old Day will commence on Sunday, June 2nd.
