Indoor dining at Minnesota restaurants will resume at 50-percent capacity under new COVID-19 guidance to be released Wednesday by Governor Tim Walz, according to WCCO Radio political insider Blois Olson. He says that the new guidance will go into effect on Monday.
"The pause will be lifted and we will be going back to guidelines, especially for dining, that was just before the mid-November pause," said Olson on the WCCO Morning News with Dave Lee.
Along with the 50-percent capacity limit, the latest update will include a 10 p.m. curfew.
"The issue they're concerned about late-night drinking, bars, young people, and that kind of behavior," Olson said. "Obviously you look at places like California and there are reasons for concern. While Minnesota's numbers have gone down, we don't certainly want to go back into some sort of lockdown or shutdown."
In a big shift, Goivernor Walz will allow churches to open with a 50% cap with no head count cap.
This story is developing. Governor Walz will address the latest COVID-19 guidance during a 2 p.m. news conference on Wednesday.
