Coming out of the pandemic, people of all ages from our community are seeking help in dealing with their mental health concerns and diagnoses. That’s why PrairieCare, with seven locations in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area, is in an expansion mode.
“We are expanding our inpatient mental health hospital in Brooklyn Park, opening the doors this fall, to meet the increased needs of youth and young adults from aged 18 to 25,” said Allison Gibbons, talent acquisition manager.
PrairieCare is now interviewing prospective employees for a variety of positions, from clinical to support staff. PrairieCare is looking for therapists, registered nurses, psych techs, social workers, medical receptionists, environmental service aids, security officers and more.
Job seekers interested in those positions can meet face-to-face with a PrairieCare recruiter in Brooklyn Park on Wednesday, July 26th.
“We are seeking people from all different educational backgrounds. Some clinical positions require advanced degrees or advanced licensure. Other positions need a high school diploma, GED or some college,” Gibbons said.
Changes brought on by COVID-19 have prompted many to re-evaluate their careers and consider work they find meaningful to the community.
“We look for people who are passionate about helping people with their mental health. We hear a lot about people who are impacted themselves or have had someone in their family with mental health issues and they are drawn to a career with purpose,” Gibbons said.
With a renewed DEI priority, PrairieCare is seeking a workforce that reflects their diverse patient population. As one of the nation’s largest providers of psychiatric services to children, adolescents, adults, and their families, PrairieCare offers competitive wages and benefits, with career advancement opportunities and a collaborative environment with a team of caring professionals.
“We have tuition reimbursement; they can get their foot in at an entry level role, get their training and take their career to the next level,” Gibbons said.
Job candidates interested in applying with PrairieCare are invited to the Brooklyn Park Medical Office Building, 5500 94th Ave North in Brooklyn Park on Wednesday, July 26 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Candidates will have the chance to meet with a recruiter to learn more about PrairieCare career opportunities.
