Hours after dropping her first single since 2024, Lizzo announced that she'll debut her new album at three small venues across the country, including First Ave.

Lizzo is expected to play small venues in Los Angeles and New York, before coming to the famed Minneapolis landmark on the night of March 18.

The singer/songwriter has credited the Twin Cities music scene with being instrumental in her career. Lizzo, who's from Detroit, spent three of her formative years as an independent rapper in Minneapolis before a leap to stardom in 2019. The four-time Grammy Award winner has also appeared as an actor in several productions.

“This album was my strut back into society after a hard 2020 & 2021,” Lizzo wrote on Instagram earlier in February. “I wanted to help people turn up the music, turn down the lights and get a feeling they’ll be alright. I wanted to remind people of how they may be broken but still perfect in their own way.”

The new album a comeback of sorts for Lizzo, who went quiet over the last couple of years following allegations from some former dancers of harrassment. She has denied any wrongdoing.

Tickets go on sale this coming Thursday, March 6 at 10:00 a.m. through the LiveNation for the New York and LA shows, and through First Avenue's website for the Minneapolis show. Pre-sales, begin today (Friday) via the official Lizzo website.
