Nearly five years after stepping away from the game for personal reasons, Maya Moore decided not to resume her career.
"It is time to put to a close to the pro basketball life," Moore told ABC's Robin Roberts on the show Good Morning America on Monday.
"In this next chapter, I want to continue to be present at home for my community, for my family," she said, adding that she'll continue to work on her non-profit.
She former Win With Justice to raise awareness of prosecutorial reform in the American justice system.
The number one overall pick in the 2011 WNBA Draft following a storied college career at Connecticut, Moore led the Lynx to four championships.
She won the league MVP award once, and played in six WNBA all-star games.
