St. Paul police made an arrest in connection with the murder of 22-year-old Alex Becker last week.
It happened when Becker was walking home from work late on the evening of December 27.
According to a criminal complaint, officers found Becker’s body, which had been shot multiple times, in an alley near 568 Lawson Avenue West.
Surveillance video from businesses in the area showed three men approach and then shoot Becker before they got into a stolen Toyota Camry and take off.
Police located the stolen car and used cell phone information to connect the car to Arteze Kinerd, and officers found him and arrested Kinerd in a gas station on Tuesday night. They also say a search warrant turned up clothing at Kinerd’s residence that matched surveillance photos of suspects.
Kinerd, 20, has been charged with one count of aiding and abetting 2nd degree murder, and his first court appearance was scheduled for Thursday morning in Ramsey County District Court.
