A man is dead after a shooting Monday night in St. Paul.
It happened around 9:00 p.m. on Raspberry Island near downtown St. Paul. Police say an altercation broke out and that a man was shot.
He later died at the hospital.
St. Paul Police spokesperson Mike Ernster says police know there were several individuals on the scene that they need to come forward.
"We need people to call us. We know that there were several people on scene," Ernster says. "The scene was described as chaotic as officers were arriving. We know that there's people out there that know what occurred and we need them to call us.”
It's St. Paul's 23rd homicide this year.
