It took Minnesota just one day to break its newly set daily record for COVID-19 cases.
3,165 cases were reported Friday by the Minnesota Department of Health and broke Thursday's single-day record by 293 cases. 18 deaths were reported by MDH with six occurring in private residences and 12 happening in long-term care/assisted living facilities.
According to the state's dial-back dashboard, Minnesota's positivity rate is 7 percent as of Oct 21.
Hospitalizations increased with 128 more people admitted into Minnesota hospitals, with 23 more entering intensive care.
As of Friday, 2,437 people have died from COVID-19 in Minnesota.
