Minnesota State Fair officials meet with Ramsey County commissioners Tuesday to discuss security for the Great Minnesota Get-Together.
The fair dismantled its own police department when its chief Paul Paulos retired, with plans to bring in an outside agency.
Ramsey County sheriff's deputies have staffed the fair's police station since then.
A major sticking point is determining if the state or the county is responsible for policing the state fair, which returns on August 26th after last year's event was canceled because of pandemic concerns.
