Minneapolis Police continue to investigate two deadly weekend shootings.

The first happened just before 1:00 a.m. Saturday in the 2400 block of 18th Avenue South where a 20-year-old was found shot and taken to the hospital. He later died.

Investigators think an argument led to that shooting. So far, there are no arrests.

Then around 1:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon, another shooting took place in the 3000 block of Grand Avenue South.

There, a man in his 40's was shot and pronounced dead on the scene.

Police did arrest a suspect in that incident later Saturday afternoon in the 4700 block of Cedar Avenue.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara called the shooting in broad daylight a "level of brazen violence that we cannot tolerate."

“I am grateful for the outstanding work of our incredibly dedicated Minneapolis police officers that resulted in an arrest," says O'Hara. "Our homicide investigators are still working diligently to piece together all that occurred, and we are still asking anyone with information about this tragedy to come forward."
