While he never lived in Minnesota, actor and comedian Richard Lewis was laid to rest last week in a private service at the Temple of Aaron Cemetery in Roseville.

The 76-year old died February 27 after suffering a heart attack.  His wife Joyce Lapinsky is a St. Paul native and went to the University of Minnesota.

According to the Star Tribune, she worked with Lipps, Inc., the Minneapolis-based funk band responsible for the worldwide hit, "Funkytown."

Before Lewis performed at a Temple of Aaron event in 2020, he told American Jewish World that his wife had informed him about his final resting place over breakfast.

Lewis, who revealed he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2023, died at his home in Los Angeles last Tuesday night.

A regular performer in clubs and on late-night TV for decades, Lewis also played Marty Gold, the romantic co-lead opposite Jamie Lee Curtis, in the ABC series “Anything But Love” and the reliably neurotic Prince John in “Mel Brooks’ Robin Hood: Men In Tights.” He re-introduced himself to a new generation opposite Larry David in HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” kvetching regularly.
