A jury awards an Excelsior, Minnesota couple more than $1 million over a misread vasectomy result.

Steven and Megan Szlachtowski conceived a healthy baby boy four years after Steven was told his vasectomy was successful, when it turned out it wasn't.

The defendant, Minnesota Urology, admitted a triage nurse told Steven his post-surgical semen sample was negative, when it was actually positive.

The jury was asked to consider the cost of raising a child to the age of 18, as well as costs associated with the mother's pregnancy and delivery, along with emotional costs to the couple.

The Szlachtowski's aleady have three other children.
