Minneapolis police say human remains found Tuesday morning near the Franklin Avenue Bridge are related to last week's case where body parts of a 36-year-old man were discovered in two separate locations.

That victim has been identified as Adam Richard Johnson, and police are investigating the case as a homicide.

Tuesday's discovery came around 6:45 a.m. at E. Franklin Avenue and West River Parkway, with investigators working the scene well into the late morning hours.

A woman who lives near the crime scene says she had turned over security cameras from her home to police.

The Hennepin County medical examiner has also been part of the investigation, along with the Minneapolis homicide unit and crime lab.

Last Thursday, human remains were found on the 300 block of Northeast Maine Street and at University Avenue and Northeast Third Street.

Like Tuesday's discovery, those remains were discovered near the Mississippi River.
