A mother and her four young children are recovering after a hit and run incident in Eden Prairie.

Eden Prairie Police are seeking a white vehicle, an unknown make and model, that fled the scene of a hit-and-run on Thursday night. It happened just steps away from Eden Prairie's City Hall.

The family was crossing Mitchell Road at Chestnut Drive when a vehicle struck the mother and her children who were being pulled in a wagon behind her.

One child has been left in in critical condition at Hennepin Healthcare. The mother and her three other children sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say they are still struggling to cope with the incident, according to Investigation Sergeant Bryan Dean.

"The children on foot were not physically injured but are understandably traumatized by the incident," says Dean. "Our hearts are with the family during what is a very difficult time."

Investigators have recovered a piece of a driver's side mirror and are offering a reward for any information that leads to the driver's arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call Eden Prairie Police.
