Last November, Malik Payne was found inside a BMW in Northeast Minneapolis with a gunshot to the head. A year later, the investigation into his death continues, and his mother wants answers.

Every day is painful for Malik's mother, Willar Ann Epps.

"Every morning, between the hours of 2:00 and 3:00, I sit," she says. "I have a cutout of my son in my living room and I go and I sit and I talk to him and I tell him, 'I see what happened.' That was my only son, you know? So it's just like, talk to your mama, tell me what's going on."

But she won't stop until she finds the people who murdered her son.

"My son was loved by everybody," says Epps. "He didn't have no enemies. The only enemies he had was his frienemies that he had right there with him. And when the truth comes out, I'm gonna face them in court."

She's confident they will be caught.

The family of Payne is hosting an event Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Brooklyn Center Embassy Suites and have partnered with Crime Stoppers to provide a $10,000 reward with the hope someone will come forward with information that will lead to an arrest.
