Union plow drivers and maintenance workers employed at several Twin Cities airports including MSP reached a near-unanimous vote Sunday to authorize a strike.

Teamsters Local 320 announced via social media on Sunday that members at Metropolitan Airports Commission authorized the strike by a 95 percent margin.

Members say their severance and compensation increases have not been in-step in labor negotiations compared to other MAC employees. According to Teamsters Local 320, their members receive 85 days of severance whereas all other MAC employees receive 200.

"I would expect that the airport would get a way to get this done," said WCCO Radio political analyst Blois Olson on the WCCO Radio Morning News. "They have several labor agreements with several groups at the airports commission. This is probably just a flare thrown out there."
